My dad drove me forty-five minutes one-way to wrestling practice Monday through Friday nearly year-round. (thanks dad)

We listened to the same radio station as I chowed down some form of sustenance between school and practice for my dinner. (thanks mom for prepping)

This is how I spent much of my young life.

One part of the drive involves a hill followed by a bridge and nearly every time we got to that part of the drive the song, Ironic, by Alanis Morissette came on. (thanks radio loop)

I didn’t really grasp or understand the word ironic at this point, but I enjoyed the song regardless.

Fast forward to last Friday and I finally fully understand the meaning of ironic.

I sent an email out talking about how I consistently write this email every Monday through Friday.

I left on Sunday for a camping trip and realized halfway there that I had forgotten to pre-write two emails for the days I would be out of internet service.

BAH!  Ironic, don’t you think?

It seems that life likes to knock you off your pedestal when it gets too high or you are spending too much time on it.

What is one to do?

Forget about the pedestal and get back to work.
